I feel more inspired by berry shades, and the deep oranges I look forward to seeing as autumn, that inspiring, changeable and stunning season begins to peer over the horizon. Orange, purple, acid green; texture overtakes colour as I work. This pot and scarf sum it up for me - less the strange soft-focus effect my camera has chosen to adopt in this photo - and they will form the basis for the work I will be making for my stand at the Wallington Food and Craft Fair in October.
As the evenings get longer, and inevitably cooler, we decided it is time to hang some proper curtains. This is another first for Chris and I, as all of our previous homes have come pre-curtained. We have shivered through many a winter with inadequate insulation at the insistence of a landlord that the unlined curtains provided are ample enough. Not so this winter.
Armed with the takings from Art Tour, we set off and ordered curtain fabric and lining to suit us, and one of my tasks this week will be to make them up. I know curtains are not difficult, but I am not very good at sewing accuracy, so wish me luck!
