Shed Envy

I went to visit the studio of a fellow artist yesterday. He works in chalk pastel, and like me has a deep love of colour. Aside from having a wonderful body of work, his studios are to die for. Yes, studios. In the plural. He has built a whole range of outhouse/sheds - some interconnected - in which he works.


I love these jars of coloured powders so much. He has them everywhere, ranged along windowsills, crowded into corners, and with fantastic collections of pots, boxes, bags, cupboards, tiles and rugs on every surface. It is studio heaven.



And the first thing you see when you go into one of the studios is the long strip of brightly coloured felt, pinned onto the wall, he said to remind him what colour could achieve.
