Findings, Endings, Beginnings

I found this lovely piece of carving on Northumberland Street in Newcastle. I will give a prize to anyone who can locate him.

In other news: The papers are signed, the checks have been done and the waiting is over. Chris and I got the keys to our new house today. Yup, we are First Time Buyers. We are also moving back to the countryside after three years living in the city. And, best of all, our new house has a room I am going to turn into a studio.

Here she be! I am utterly and entirely excited about creating my very own workspace.

Currently, I work on our kitchen table. This is of great benefit to Meg, our very personable cat, who gets to jump on me (and consequently my work) at whim, but not so hot for me and Chris, expecially come meal-time. I promise those of you who have never eaten breakfast from a table covered in sodden towels, you are not missing out.

This is the view from my studio, looking west. Yes, that is countryside in the distance (!!!)

And what studio wouldbe completed without its complimentary eighties throwback sticker?

As we drove back to Newcastle (our bed is there until Wednesday), everything felt so colourful and full of life. My somewhat shaky moving-car-photography skills won't really convey it, but the May landscape effervesces.

Ahh.
